About this photo: Captured on 10-24-09, In Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Beautiful colors of fall plus it was misting rain at time that made for a beautiful rainbow and also deer in the field eating.
Best deal found: A tank of gas from my home. And entrance to the park is free.

About this photo: This is a beach beneath the cliffs of the Mayan ruins in Tulum. My wife and I traveled to Cancun for her 40th birthday 2 weeks ago and drove to Tulum for a day trip one day – about a 2 hour drive.
Best deal found: Non-stop flights from Atlanta found via Kayak.com for $295, including fees. 2 nights at the JW Marriott in Cancun using Marriott rewards points. 3rd night for $130 with AAA card. AAA saved $40.

About this photo: This is picture was taken in the heart of the “Cocora valley” Salento Quindio Colombia, it is an amazing place where you can find one of the tallest palm trees in the world up to 50 meter tall (wax Palm tree), also the best trout fish and if you dare to walk up 5 hours to the mountains you will find los nevados national park.

About this photo: This beautiful photo was taken while standing on the beach in Gulf Shores mid afternoon in early August. A perfect blue sky with white fluffy clouds. Notice how the water glistens as the wind blows shallow waves across the surface. The moon slighty comes into focus. Amazingly, it stormed a few hours later.
Best deal found: The Dolphin Tour with Captain Ron. They were very friendly and we saw a ton of dolphins.

About this photo I walked around the national mall taking pictures and waiting for sunset. I got this picture as the light was fading. The flags on the bottom right are those surrounding the base of the Washington Monument.
Best deal found: The free sites around the national mall. The Lincoln Memorial, the White House, the Capitol. Just visiting and photographing them without paying for tours was great.
