Destination: Glen Canyon, AZ
About this photo: We were on the way from Monument Valley to Bryce Canyon. We knew we would have to pass Lake Powell but didn’t expect such spectacular view of the Glen Canyon Dam. My dad took this photos as I was resting on the red rocks of Glen Canyon with Colorado river and Dam behind me. What a breathtaking view!
Best deal found: Hoover Dam downstream is also worth the visit. You’ll find it at Lake Mead outside of Las Vegas. They offer interesting tour, movie about how the dam was built and they also take you to the bottom of dam (on the inside). But don’t go in summer because of heat and get full tank of gas coming from Grand Canyon side. There is no gas station for 50 miles.

Destination: Kuwait City, Kuwait
About this photo: Watching the sun set over Kuwait from the top of an apartment building in the Fintas area of Kuwait City.

# Description: Our trip to Kuwait City was a spur-of-the-moment decision. We purchased plane tickets two days before travel. We bought coach tickets from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for 1/3 of the price of the other airlines. We were very impressed with our service from KLM (spacious plane, good food, flight attendants who were very helpful with our children) and will fly with them again.

About this photo: Zurich,CH on a day off from work… Thai food has been great everywhere we’ve visited… See Kelly Clarkson european tour schedule for other places visited… Zurich is not for the frugal traveler… expensive to do anything…IMO. Cheers!

In Glasgow Scotland I purchased a 1983 Fender Stratocaster ’57 reissue guitar built in USA. 450 pounds = roughly $700 USD.

Destination: Reykjavik, Iceland
About this photo: This is a survival shed that we visited on our way to Hafnarfjordur, which purportedly is the elf capital of the world. We decided to go in and look around since no one was there. Then we signed the ledger and camped in Hafnarfjordur. I’m in shorts because the zipper broke on the only jeans I brought. My friend sewed them up with dental floss but they were uncomfortable.
Best deal found: A nearby island off of Iceland called Vestmannaeyjar. We camped in a defunct volcano for about $40.00. Which was expensive but everything in Iceland is expensive. By that time my friend was tired of my snoring and started to sleep in the trunk of the car. That was fine until the tornado hit and the tent bowed in and hit me in the face. I ran back to the car and we ended up duct taping the tent together the next day.

Destination: Bondi – Sydney
About this photo: A view over Bondi Beach from the Swiss Grand hotel opposite. On the right of the photo is the sea-water pool and the area where the ‘Icebergs’ swim in winter. The Icebergs are a group of crazy old people that get their kicks by swimming in the ocean in the middle of winter. Centre of the photo is the main swimming area.
Best deal found: Swiss Grande Hotel – $70.00 per night for a junior suite.

About this photo: This is the Dead Sea in Israel at sunrise. The healing waters are rich in minerals for your skin (sinuses, too)! What a beautiful place…no where like it on earth!
