Destination: France’s Alsace Vineyard Route
Best deal found: No deals per se, but we found an overnight at the charming La Maison des Tetes Hotel (House of Heads) in Colmar (110 euro, double) a good value. Don’t miss Colmar’s Unterlinden Museum. The photo is the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle in Orschwiller – one of the dozens of little villages that line the 100-mile Alsace Wine Route along the border with Germany.

Best deal found: My husband and I love to travel. In April we went to Kyoto, Nagoya, Tokyo, Takayama, and Fukui Japan! The best part of the trip (besides the best sushi in the world) was flying on ANA airlines in business class (for free) and staying in one of the best hotels in Japan…for FREE! My hubby Mark saved over 250,000 Marriott points, we signed up for a special they had going on a few years ago, and we earned a totally free trip! Marriott was wonderful to work with and so was ANA! We have already started saving up for our next big trip to Italy! For people who want to go to Japan, make sure you get the Japan Rail Pass (you can’t get it once you go to Japan, you must get it in the US since it is for tourists only)! It allows you to go around Japan on all of the JR lines for a very good rate! 🙂 Love your show! Jenny M.

Best deal found: An early morning canoe ride on a lake at Mountain Meadows cross country ski resort in Killington, Vermont. We stayed at the lodge for $4.00 for one night and we washed pots and pans to get our dinner free during our hike on the Appalachian Trail in 1976. I checked their website and the fee for one night is now $59.00.
