At-Home Safari
If you don’t have the time or the cash to travel to South Africa for a safari, sit back and take in the sights from home!
Google Street View now takes you on a safari through Kruger National Park with the Mzansi Experience that showcases popular spots in South Africa including Table Mountain and Cape Point. Get a 360-degree look around Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest reserves to spy elephants, lions, leopards and more roaming in the wild.
In addition to Kruger National Park, the ‘Mzansi Experience’ includes the beautiful sites of Table Mountain, Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, Cape Point, and Kirstenbosch Gardens. Take a virtual stroll along the golden stretches of Sunset Beach and wander along Durban’s Golden Mile.
The national walking trails of England and Wales are now featured on Google Street View. Web users will eventually be able to tour all 15 trails from their office or home with 360-degree images captured by the mapping tool. The first one features the North Downs Way, an inspirational 153-mile journey from Farnham to Canterbury and the White Cliffs of Dover that is part of an ancient route used by pilgrims.
Trekker cameras were used for the first time to map the rocky terrain of Arizona’s Grand Canyon, which saw a spike in visitors.
Google Street View cameras have also been used to map the slopes of Mont Blanc, the wilds of the Galapagos Islands and dozens of U.S. national parks, and underwater diving spots near Bali and the Cook Islands.

Cool Shoes
The budget European airline easyJet will soon be selling a new product — Sneakairs.
A pair of smart shoes have built-in vibrating sensors to direct wearers where to go. The left shoe vibrates when you should make a left turn; a vibrating right shoe indicates a right turn. When both vibrate, you’ve walked past your turn.
The shoes are equipped with Bluetooth technology and are linked to a phone’s GPS—think real-time Google Maps, where the directions vibrate on your phone when it’s time to make a turn.
The associated app is only available for iPhone users.
But the freedom of putting away your phone and taking in the sights!
Sneakairs will no doubt only be available in the airline’s signature orange color. The price has not yet been determined.
The British low-cost airline has been at the forefront of technological innovation. Last year, easyJet made headlines as the first airline to incorporate wearable built-in microphones and LED messages into its uniforms.

NOTE: Airline fees can and often do exceed the cost of your flight! Additional charges now apply to budget and sale rates on most airlines for a carry-on bag, checked baggage and advance seat assignments. The least expensive fees are charged when these options are added during the flight booking process. Fees climb higher after flights are reserved and even higher when adding these options at airport check-in. Kayak offers the most up-to-date Fees Chart for all domestic and international airlines.
