Cheap travel season is here. Find a deal.

The key to saving money on any purchase? You zig when everybody else is zagging. Travel is no exception.

Fall is coming, school is back in, and nobody is flying right now. Nobody is traveling right now except the corporate types. Most leisure travelers won’t be flying until at least mid-December, except around Thanksgiving. So right now there is deal after deal available.

Read to find a real bargain?  Start with these websites:

Kayak.com/explore:  Put in your home city and see all the deals that are available anywhere around the world.

Then when you’ve seen the best places on sale and are ready to book a bargain, go to Google.com/flights or Skyscanner.com to nail down the deal.

One exception: To find deals on Southwest Airlines, you’ll need to go directly to Southwest.com, as their flights aren’t listed in the search engines.
