Hulu is increasing the starting price of its live TV streaming service by $5 a month for new and existing subscribers.

Since its launch, Hulu with Live TV has been priced at $39.99 per month. The service features more than 60 sports, news and entertainment networks, plus access to Hulu’s entire on-demand streaming library.

Starting February 26, the price of Hulu + Live TV will go up to $44.99/month.

Price hike for Hulu with Live TV streaming service

The price hike comes after Hulu added several Discovery-owned networks to its channel lineup in December 2018, including Discovery, TLC and Animal Planet. View the full channel lineup here.

What makes Hulu + Live TV special is that it comes with Hulu’s streaming library (with ads) at no extra charge.

Hulu’s on-demand service starts at $7.99 a month when purchased separately, but that price is dropping to $5.99 for the base package with ads. The plan with no commercials is staying put at $11.99 a month.

The changes go into effect on February 26 for new subscribers and the billing cycle after that date for existing subscribers.

Clark.com has focused on live TV streaming services that can help you cut the cable TV cord and save money. As of January 2019, YouTube TV, Sling TV and DirecTV Now still offer plans for $40 a month or less.

We’ll have to wait and see whether those services announce price hikes of their own this year!
