Secure web browsing is a big problem when you’re on unencrypted wifi. Thankfully, there’s a new device that lets you lock down your data while you still enjoy free public wifi wherever you are.

For $60, will sell you a unit that plugs into the USB port of your computer. Once plugged in, it gives you 2GB of protected surfing by encrypting everything you do. That 2GB cap works out to be about 45 hours of web browsing on a weekly basis, or four hours of streaming video per week.

There is no additional monthly charge as long as you stay within the capacity limits. If you do need more data, you can pay $5 a month for 25GB or $10 a month for 75GB.

Technology writers seem to love SurfEasy in the reviews I’ve read so far.
