Have you ever looked at an item online, decided not to buy it, and then later returned to the item only to see the price has gone up? This is the result of companies tracking you every time you go online!
When online retailers change the price of a product depending on your browsing history, it’s called dynamic pricing. Retailers use this tactic to get you to spend more on their products.
Here’s what you can do to stop them!
Use incognito mode
If you have Google Chrome or Firefox you can use the Incognito option. Incognito mode or private browsing prevents your interenet history from being stored. To open an Incognito window in Chome, open Chrome, at the top right corner click the ‘more’ option. Then select ‘New Incognito Window.’
Privacy defense software
There are many types of software out there now that you can download to stop online retailers from tracking you. Two of the easiest ones to use are Privacy Badger and Red Morph. Just download the program and start protecting what’s most important to you — your privacy!
