When it comes to computers, is one brand any better than the other? A recent report from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) shows which computer brands customers favor.
ACSI’s Household Appliance and Electronics Study 2020-2021 rates the best computer brands and types of devices according to customer satisfaction.
Which Computer Devices Do Customers Prefer?
When it came to device types, 62% of survey respondents said they preferred laptops, followed by desktops (24%) and tablets (16%).
Here are some more key findings pertaining to device types:
- When it comes to processor speed, desktops beat both laptops and tablets.
- For graphics and sound quality, tablets and desktops were evenly preferred, while laptops lagged slightly behind.
- For design, laptops and tablets are the devices the survey respondents said they liked to use the most.

For the study, more than 7,900 people were interviewed between July 7, 2020 and June 26, 2021, about recently purchased computers. The brands and device types were scored on a 100-point scale.
