No, you’re not losing your mind. The DIY Network has disappeared from your cable or streaming TV menu in 2022.

And, unfortunately for fans of the network, it’s not coming back anytime soon. At least not in the same form as it was from 1999 to 2021.

But it’s not all bad news. Many of the DIY Network favorites you’ve come to enjoy over the years will live on.

Team Clark has the details on what is happening to the DIY Network and some of its popular shows in 2022.

DIY Network Is Now Magnolia Network

On January 5, 2022, the DIY Network became the Magnolia Network.

Magnolia Network is a brand that will prominently feature content created or produced by HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines.

This transition away from the DIY Network had been planned by parent Discovery, Inc. since 2019 when it was first announced that Chip and Joanna Gaines would be launching their own cable TV network for the production company.

The two rose to fame with a home remodeling show called “Fixer Upper,” a Texas-based reality show featuring Joanna’s interior design skills paired with Chip’s handiwork to help hopeful homebuyers turn older homes into their dream homes. The show originally aired from 2013 to 2018 but is expected to return with new episodes as a part of the new Magnolia Network content plan.

The popularity of this show and others like it inspired the recent content curation of the DIY Network, which Discovery has branded as a “sister” station to HGTV.

In the years following “Fixer Upper”, the real estate power couple has expanded the Magnolia brand to include coffee shops, retail cooking equipment, blogs and now a television network.

What Happens to Popular Shows From the DIY Network?

The DIY Network had been in operation since 1999, so there is more than 20 years worth of content many loyal viewers may be concerned about finding once the Magnolia Network takes the reins.

According to Discovery, Inc.’s early advertisements for the network change, many of the popular DIY Network shows will still exist on Magnolia Network.

I decided to look ahead on the network’s programming schedule to see if I could identify some of the more popular DIY Network shows on the slate after the January 5th, 2022, switchover.

Here are some of the shows I was able to confirm will continue to air on the channel after the brand change:

  • Maine Cabin Masters
  • Barnwood Builders
  • Building Off The Grid
  • Beach Bargain Hunt: Renovation

If you’re worried whether your favorite DIY shows will make the cut with all the new content Magnolia Network will be bringing to the channel, you may have alternative ways to watch them in the coming weeks and months.

First, you may want to check the channel menu of your live TV streaming service to see if the show is airing on a different network. I noticed that some DIY Network shows are slated to broadcast on channels like GAC Living and Destination America in the coming weeks.

You also could sign up for the discovery+ streaming service, which has archived episodes of many of the DIY Network shows for $4.99 per month.

How To Access the Magnolia Network via Live TV Streaming Services

For cable or live TV streaming service subscribers who previously got DIY Network, there will be no action to take to access Magnolia Network. The “new” channel should exist exactly where the “old” channel was prior to January 5.

Here’s a list of the services that offer Magnolia Network:

DIRECTV STREAM“Ultimate” package or higher required$95
fuboTV“Extra” package required$73
Hulu + Live TVBase subscription + “Entertainment” add-on$78
