If you’re looking for a value option for live TV streaming, Frndly TV may have just moved to the top of the list of subscriptions to consider.

The family-friendly streaming service has struck a deal with A+E Networks to add seven popular channels to its lineup. There is a corresponding price hike of $1 per month.

However, Frndly TV will still be a much cheaper option than full-service live TV streaming services such as YouTube TV (starting at $65 per month) or Sling TV (starting at $35 per month).

The new channels and new pricing models take effect in November 2021. Here are the details you need to know from the recent announcement.

Frndly TV Will Add 7 Channels From A+E Networks

Beginning November 18, 2021, Frndly TV subscribers will have access to seven new channels as a result of this agreement with A+E Networks.

This is highlighted by the additions of A&E, Lifetime and The HISTORY Channel. Here’s the full list of new channels:

Frndly TV increased the price for all three of its subscription levels to offset the cost of adding A+E Networks to the fold.

Basic$6.99$5.99
Classic$8.99$7.99
Premium$10.99$9.99

These pricing changes took effect on November 10, 2021.

All three packages offer the same channels. The upgrades are for things like high-definition broadcast, concurrent streams on multiple devices and DVR capabilities.

New customers can try the service out with a seven-day free trial, and there is no penalty for canceling at any time.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the differences in each package, as presented by Frndly TV’s website:

Final Thoughts

This streaming service may not be a complete replacement for cable, but it is a low-cost live TV option for budget-conscious consumers who care little about access to live news or sports.

Already considered to be one of the most cost-effective ways to access the vast array of holiday content from Hallmark, Frndly TV will be able to target that audience for similar content with channels like Lifetime and LMN.

The addition of these channels comes on the heels of the October 2021 addition of the GAC family of networks, which also has a strong holiday movie, drama and family-friendly content presence.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Frndly TV reached the 500,000 subscriber threshold as of October 2021 and has reached profitability in spite of its relatively small subscription price for live TV streaming.

Give credit to Frndly TV. It knows its market, and it knows both the channels and the price point required to reach that audience.
