One Florida waitress got a life-changing tip from two customers who called themselves her “guardian angels.”

Kari Vanardoy was given a $1,000 tip on a $29 bill at the WingHouse restaurant in Largo, which is located in Tampa, on Wednesday, according to a report. The 22-year-old told WFTS that she didn’t believe it was that much at first.

“I’m not used to having good luck like that. I thought it was $10 at first because that would have been a nice tip on that tab. But really it was two extra zeros,” she said.

Bottomless boneless wings, soda…and guardian angels

WingHouse general manager David Eschenfelder said that Vanardoy lives in a studio apartment with her 2-year-old son and boyfriend and this tip allows her to move to a larger apartment. Vanardoy works two jobs and has been at WingHouse for five years prior to this.

According to WFTS, “the strangers ordered bottomless boneless wings, soda, and blue cheese and hinted that they had left a tip as large as $500 in the past.” Vanardoy also said that the woman at the table referred to herself as her “guardian angel.”

“She actually told me she was my guardian angel if I ever need anything,” she said. “I didn’t do anything for them ever, so it was just a sweet act.”

Eschenfelder said he was glad to see that there are still kind strangers out in the world. “It was just an ordinary couple that wanted to make her happy,” he said. “You don’t find many people like that anymore. They just gave it to her out of the goodness of their hearts.”
