Report: The #1 Computer Brand for Customer Satisfaction

Searching for a quality computer is no longer so much about which features this one has and the others don’t. They all are pretty good right now. Still, you may wonder which computer brands rise to the top according to other consumers.

The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) Household Appliance and Electronics Study 2022-2023 rates the best computer brands and types of devices according to customer satisfaction.

Which Computer Devices Do Customers Prefer?

When it came to device types, satisfaction was highest among survey respondents for desktops (84 ACSI score), followed by laptops (80) and tablets (76).

Here are some more key findings from the report:

  • When it comes to processor speed, desktops beat both laptops and tablets.
  • For graphics and sound quality, desktops once again beat laptops, with tablets lagging slightly behind.
  • For design, laptops and tablets are the devices the survey respondents said they liked to use the most.

The #1 Computer Brand in America Is …

Both Apple and Samsung finished atop the list with identical ACSI scores of 83. 

Meanwhile, the largest and second-largest gains compared to the previous year were earned by Dell and HP, which both finished in second place with a score of 81.

ACSI says 14,069 people were interviewed for the study between July 2022 and June 2023, about computers they’d recently purchased. The brands and device types were scored on a 100-point scale.

“The most important thing is don’t ever negotiate with yourself,” Clark says. “Don’t say, ‘I just can’t afford that’ before you’ve found out if you can get a bargain.”
