We’re just a couple of weeks away from Black Friday 2018, which means stores will be offering some of the best deals of the year and the temptation to spend will be everywhere.

If you play your cards right this holiday shopping season you’ll be able to save big while working through your “Nice” list, but it’s important not to get caught up in the hype of the holiday. Black Friday has become a seasonal mentality over the past few years, and the shopping-to-save mindset now lasts well beyond the day after Thanksgiving.

It’s important to know when you can find the best deals and, surprisingly, it isn’t always necessarily on Black Friday. Some hot products will actually be overstocked by many stores (including Best Buy) and available at a better price closer to the holidays. If you do decide to shop online or in-store on November 23 this year, be sure to know when your target purchases will have the best price and always price compare to ensure you’re getting the best deal before making your final decision.

Best Buy’s Black Friday 2018: Here’s what you need to know

Where can I find Best Buy’s Black Friday Ad?

Best Buy’s Black Friday ad preview was just posted early this morning! Last year, the company’s Black Friday ad was also posted early on November 8, and the deals do not disappoint. See the best deals from this year’s Best Buy Black Friday 2018 ad here!

Best Buy will be offering free shipping all season long on any online orders with no minimum purchase amount required.

What time does Best Buy open for Black Friday?

Many stores have made the decision to stay closed on Thanksgiving Day this year, but Best Buy is following the same opening and closing times as the past several years. Best Buy plans to open at 5pm on Thanksgiving, likely closing at 1am Friday before reopening later Friday morning at 8am with sales running through 10pm on Black Friday (while supplies last).

Like the past few years, Best Buy will be offering Black Friday deals online and in-stores with a handful of exclusive offers for each. Partnered with season-long free shipping, you’ll find huge savings advertised online this year in addition to in-store doorbuster deals. Typically, the company’s online sale features discounts that are valid all day on Thursday and Friday.

What kind of Black Friday deals can I expect from Best Buy?

According to Best Buy’s 2018 Black Friday ad, you can expect to see several great deals on televisions, specifically. This year, you’ll find a 65″ 4K Samsung smart TV on sale for $599.99, in addition to a Fire TV Edition Toshiba 43” smart 4K UHD TV with HDR for $129.99. You’ll also find a Samsung 11.6″ Chromebook for $99 and rock-bottom prices on smart home devices, headphones, gaming systems and the latest and greatest smartphones.

Best Buy will be a great Black Friday destination for tablets, e-readers, streaming devices and other electronics and accessories.

Other ways to prepare for Best Buy’s Black Friday shopping season

  • Locate your nearest Best Buy
  • Peruse the best deals from the Black Friday ad.
  • Keep in mind that Best Buy offers free shipping on all online orders this season, and many of the company’s Black Friday deals will be available online as well as in-stores. Some deals and sales on November 22 and November 23 will be online-only exclusives (some will also be in-store only exclusives).

Finally, don’t forget to comparison shop!

If you’re shopping online, use websites like as Google Shopping, NexTag, PriceGrabber, Pricewatch, or Shopzilla to compare prices before you decide when and where to make your final purchase.

If you’re shopping in-store, apps like BuyVia, Flipp, ShopKick, ShopSavvy, and Shopular are great for instant price comparing.

While you should always remember to price compare before buying, the best advice we can offer for this year’s Black Friday season is to set a budget for yourself and stick to it. Take advantage of great deals on purchases that you need but, again, don’t get caught up in the hype of the holiday!
