Replacing the tires on your car is an unavoidable expense. But there are ways to make sure you’re getting the best available deal.

In this article, I’ll take a look at BJ’s Tire Center: an affordable option for members. I’ve researched the process and pricing at BJ’s Tire Center to get an idea of what you can expect when buying tires from the wholesale club.

BJ’s Wholesale Club Tire Center: What You Need To Know

Members will find great prices at BJ’s Wholesale Club. The tire center offers a great selection of brands including Michelin, BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear and more. You can check out the selection of tires online or visit your nearest BJ’s Wholesale Club in person.

Before you make your purchase, consider these five things about buying BJ’s Wholesale Club tires:

  1. How It Works
  2. Pricing
  3. Installation
  4. Appointments
  5. Road Hazard Warranty

Below, you’ll find detailed information about BJ’s Wholesale Club tires including how to buy them, how the prices compare to other tire centers, ways to maximize your savings and more.

1. How To Purchase Tires From BJ’s Wholesale Club

To purchase tires from BJ’s Wholesale Club, you’ll need to be a member. Membership costs $55 per year and provides access to exclusive in-club and online savings.

Members can purchase BJ’s tires online or in-store. If you want to check out the available selection of tires that will fit your car, I recommend looking online. You’ll find an easy-to-use search tool that helps you browse the full selection from more than a dozen manufacturers. Plus, you can have the tires shipped directly to your nearest BJ’s Tire Center for free and get them installed there.

If you do choose to shop online, start by entering your vehicle’s information including the year, make and model as well as your ZIP code. Then, click “Find My Tires.” From there, you’ll be asked to select your nearest BJ’s Wholesale Club Tire Center. Once you’ve made your selection, you can view the available tires that fit your car. For my 2017 Toyota Camry, there were 31 different tires to choose from at the time of writing (November 2023).

Under each selection, you’ll see the brand, the per-tire price, any available mileage warranty information and any available discounts. You can click “View Details” for more. Along the side of the screen, you can narrow your search by brand, speeds and tire type. Across the top of the page, you can filter your results by tire installation availability (next day, in two business days or in seven business days). Once you’ve made your selection, you can click “Add To Cart.”

Once you’re ready to check out, you can review your cart. You’ll see that the installation cost has been automatically added and the price is included in your subtotal. Depending on what brand you choose and when you buy, there may be a promotion available for free installation. If so, the savings will be applied automatically.

No matter how you decide to purchase your tires through BJ’s, you will need to provide proof of membership.

2. How Much Do BJ’s Tires Cost?

Compared to other tire stores, BJ’s Wholesale Club is one of the cheapest places to buy your tires. In November 2023, tire prices for my 2017 Toyota Camry ranged from $124.99 to $231.99 each.

Of course, tire prices vary by vehicle and change regularly. If you find the best deal on tires that fit your car at BJ’s Wholesale Club and choose to have your tires installed at the tire center, you’ll find that the installation price averages around $20 per tire for most vehicles.

To get a better idea of how BJ’s Wholesale Club’s tire selection compares to other tire retailers, I looked up the prices of two specific popular tires at each store. Then, I checked out the range of prices and availability of tires for two popular vehicles.

In the table below, you’ll see prices for a Bridgestone Turanza Quiettrack 215/55R17 tire that fits my 2017 Toyota Camry and for a Michelin Defender LTX M/S 20 tire that fits the popular Ford F-150. Prices are accurate as of November 2023.

When it comes to installation, you can generally expect to pay $20 per tire. For that price, you’ll get the Three-Point Tire Promise guaranteed by BJ’s Wholesale Club. According to the website, those three points include “incredible value, top-brand quality and premium service.”

Each installation also includes maintenance for the life of the tire. That maintenance consists of the following services:

Note that only tires purchased from BJ’s Wholesale Club are eligible for the $20 installation. BJ’sTire Centers will not install tires you bought somewhere else. For more information on tire installation at BJ’s Wholesale Club, visit this webpage.

Making an appointment is easy. Plus, you’ll be able to get all of your shopping done while the tire techs work on your vehicle! If you’re shopping in-store, you can schedule an appointment in person. Otherwise, you can schedule an appointment online when you make your purchase.

After you’ve chosen the tires you want, you’ll be asked to sign in to your BJ’s Wholesale Club account before continuing. Then you’ll be able to schedule an appointment at your selected location. Depending on the tires that you’ve chosen and how busy your nearest BJ’s Tire Center is, you may be able to make an appointment as soon as the next day.

5. BJ’s Tires: The Road Hazard Warranty

The Road Hazard Limited Warranty is included on all tires purchased at BJ’s for non-commercial vehicles with a wheel diameter of 24″ or less. With this warranty, you can have your tires repaired or replaced as long as certain conditions are met.

According to the company website, the warranty lasts until any portion of the tire has worn below 2/32″ tread depth or been driven on for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first. If a tire is determined to be damaged beyond repair before that time, a replacement allowance will be granted.

The limited warranty covers tires that have large punctures, slices, cuts or other damage as well as tires with bubbles in their sidewalls. This is called an impact break and typically occurs when the tire has hit a pothole or other object.

If the tire is damaged due to one of the following reasons, BJ’s says its Road Hazard Warranty will not cover the repair/replacement:

  • Irregular wear caused by misalignment, mechanical defects or lack of maintenance
  • Improper inflation
  • Accident, fire, vandalism or purposeful abuse
  • Damage from obstructions or modifications of the vehicle
  • Improper installation
  • Ozone or weather checking
  • Re-capped or re-tread tires
  • Cosmetic damage, sidewall abrasions or other appearances that do not affect the safety or performance of the tire.
  • Off-road or commercial use of tires
  • Tires purchased before 10/29/2007

In addition to the Road Hazard Limited Warranty, some of BJ’s tires are eligible for the Limited Mileage Warranty. You can find more information about both warranties including what’s warranted, member responsibilities, legal rights and more by visiting the website.
