It’s not often that thieves returns stolen items to their victims — and when one wallet thief in California did just that, he (or she) also gave his victim more than she could have ever imagined.

After a woman had her wallet stolen, the thief not only returned her credit cards and driver’s license, but also offered some unsolicited advice.

Wallet thief has special advice for victim

The victim told CBS Los Angeles that a few days after her wallet vanished, the non-cash contents, including her credit cards and driver’s license, turned up in an envelope — along with a handwritten note that read:

– Shop less
– enjoy more
– Don’t keep to[o] much cash on your wallet
– keep your wallet safe

The thief also apparently noticed the woman’s salon punch card, since the note offered this final piece of advice: ‘do your own nails. Stop splurging your money & save.’

So what did the victim have to say about her thief’s unsolicited advice? ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,’ she told CBS.

The thief also took the chance to explain to the woman that he (or she) kept the $350 in cash because the thief needed it more. The thief also kept the woman’s Target gift card, as well as the Louis Vuitton wallet.

“Basically anything that couldn’t incriminate them, they kept,” said the victim said, who also noted that the thief’s advice is a little hypocritical for someone who steals hundreds in cash, a designer wallet and gift cards.
