As the longest shutdown in our nation’s history drags on, nearly 1 million federal employees are either on furlough or on the job without getting paid. That’s why PayPal has stepped in to alleviate some of the financial burden.
The payments giant is out with a new offer of up to $500 in one-time cash assistance at a 0% Annual Percentage Rate (APR).

Interest-free cash advances of up to $500 are available
PayPal’s offer is open to any U.S. federal government employee impacted by the partial federal government shutdown. However, you must have a PayPal credit account and be a customer in good standing to apply.
What you’ll receive is a single cash advance that’s a minimum of $250 up to a maximum of $500. You must make minimum monthly payments on whatever you receive, but the money will be interest-free with 0% APR until repaid in full.

Some 800,000 federal employees already missed one paycheck earlier this month. PayPal has committed $25 million to this initiative, which will be ongoing until all the funds are handed out or until the government reopens.
