If you find something that’s not right, dispute it!
The process of disputing incorrect information on your credit report is easy — getting results is the hard part. When going through this process, make sure you file your dispute with both the credit issuer and the credit bureau — and be sure you keep records of everyone you are in contact with. You must be persistent and make sure you follow up and document every step of the way. If all else fails, contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for help.
