Whether it’s by an internal employee or an outside hacker, it’s usually just a matter of time before one of our financial accounts will get compromised. But there are ways to prevent damage and protect your personal information.

There are legitimate companies like LifeLock that you can pay to monitor your credit for a hefty fee.

And there are other companies that will do this for free. CreditKarma.com is one that has been around a while. And there is a new one called Civic that offers free identity protection for life.
