A new survey shows that one grocery store chain has maintained its position in the top spot when it comes to customer satisfaction — and if you don’t live in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic, you may not have even heard of it. Wegmans, based out of Rochester, New York, has fewer than 100 locations, with about half of them in the Empire State.
What is the top-rated supermarket in the United States?
The store takes the top stop among Americans’ favorite grocery store chains, according to a recent study from Marketforce Information, which annually surveys more than 10,000 consumers around the United States on where they like to shop. The findings reveal that cleanliness, item availability and employee training — something that Wegmans puts a premium on — can yield huge dividends when it comes to customer loyalty.
“Market Force sought to uncover which brands excel in specific operational and service categories that set leading grocers apart,” a press release on the study says. “It found that Publix and Wegmans led in most areas, including the ability to find desired items, cleanliness and specialty department service.”
