With many people working from home more because of the coronavirus pandemic, reliable internet has become more important than ever. But how does your internet service provider compare with others?
A new report from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) scores how happy customers are with their internet service provider.
ACSI says it considered “customer expectations, perceptions of quality, and perceptions of value” in rating the services.
The Best Internet Service Providers
Here are some key findings in the report:
- Overall satisfaction with internet service providers increased by nearly 5% from 2019.
- Verizon Fios, which has a 100% fiber-optic network, comes in as the top internet service provider.
- Eight of 11 providers scored better in 2020 than in 2019.

ACSI says its report is based on interviews with more than 46,000 customers. The surveys were conducted between April 2019 and March 2020.
Founded at the University of Michigan in 1994, ACSI gathers data and analyzes it to measure U.S. consumer satisfaction in many areas.
