Football fans look forward to Super Bowl Sunday every year, but the day after the big game can be brutal if you have to go to work following a night of partying!

So the folks at Kraft Heinz started a petition to make that Monday a national holiday.

Should ‘Smunday’ be a national holiday?

According to a Change.org petition, more than 16 million people call in sick or don’t report to work the day after the Super Bowl. And those who do show up aren’t 100%, which costs about $1 billion in lost productivity.

If the online petition gets 100,000 signatures, Kraft Heinz says that it will be sent straight to Congress.

In a news release, Kraft Heinz said it’s giving salaried employees across the U.S. the day off on Monday, February 6.

Some of Clark’s Twitter followers say this wouldn’t be an issue if the NFL would just move the Super Bowl to Saturday, but others told us they take the day off every year anyway.

Should the Monday after the game be a national holiday? Take our poll below and sign the petition here!
