Taking your family to a professional sporting event these days is like going to Disney World. The price of everything – down to a hot dog – can be ridiculous.

But that’s going to change when the Atlanta Falcons move into Mercedes-Benz Stadium next year.

Some of the most popular food items will be priced below $5 – and the Falcons say quality will not be compromised.

What’s on the ‘fan-first’ menu?

  • $2 – Non-alcoholic beverages with free refills
  • $2 – Bottled water; hot dogs; pretzels; popcorn
  • $3 – Peanuts; pizza; nachos; waffle fries
  • $5 – 12 oz. domestic beer

A family of four will be able to fill up for $28 or less with the new menu and pricing model.

To put that $2 hot dog in perspective, the average hot dog sold at an NFL stadium last year cost $5.29, according to Team Marketing Report.

For the Falcons, it’s about improving the overall fan experience.

‘We have listened to the concerns of the fans on the food and beverage experience and have responded to those concerns in a way that honors our commitment to providing the best possible fan experience at our events,” said Falcons owner Arthur Blank.

Even though these affordable options are getting all the attention, the team says there will be plenty of higher-end fare.
