Because of other services entering the market for TV service, this has pushed pricing down for consumers. The price curve has bent — meaning we are moving out of the era of paying more and more for TV. It’s up to you to seize what the market is offering and get a better deal.

A new option for cheaper cable TV

Dish Network has a great deal going on right now for a robust monthly TV package for $49.99 for 120 channels, including HD, local programming and regional sports, with free installation. This is a direct response to AT&T’s DirecTV offer — except you don’t have to purchase any other bundled services to get this deal, like you do with DirecTV.

The more you take advantage of opportunities like this in the marketplace, the more you’re going to save.

Note on this deal: If you dump the service before the 2-year agreement is up, you’ll have to pay $20 a month for each month leading up to the agreement expiration. Additionally, you’ll want to be ready to set calendar reminders! This deal automatically includes HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz and DISH Movie Pack free for the first three months, but you’ll have to call to cancel as soon as the three month mark hits to ensure you don’t get charged for those after the three month trial is over.

Additionally, after six months, you’ll automatically be billed $8 a month for Dish’s protection plan unless you call to cancel. Once the two-year promotion is up, the service will automatically change to the then-price of the service package. And one other fine print item — the $49.99 deal is valid on eAutopay only, and taxes or state-specific surcharges and protection plan or transactional fees may apply. (See terms and conditions here.) But, this is still the best deal out there right now for the number of channels you receive! Offer ends 8/4/16.
