If you have a Capital One credit card in your wallet, you may have some new Uber perks to enjoy.

Capital One and Uber recently announced an agreement to provide new ride-booking and food delivery benefits to cardholders of popular credit cards in the Savor and Quicksilver families.

“Across Savor and Quicksilver cards, our new Uber partnership stands out by making it easy to earn unlimited, meaningful rewards, without confusing caps or restrictions,” said Monica Weaver, Head of Branded Card Partnerships & Experiences at Capital One.

If you have the right rewards credit card, you may now be eligible for a complimentary membership to Uber One or enhanced cash back rewards for purchases with Uber.

Let’s look at the details from the announcement to see how you might benefit.

Select Capital One Cardholders Get New Uber Perks

There are two benefit tiers for credit cards that are included in this new promotion. Let’s look at the perks and eligible cards for each.

10% Cash Back on Uber Purchases and 24 Months of Uber One Membership

  • Savor Rewards from Capital One
  • SavorOne Rewards from Capital One
  • SavorOne Rewards for Students
  • Quicksilver Student Credit Card

Cards in this tier will earn 10% cash back on purchases made with the card for Uber products.

In addition, these cards get up to 24 months of complimentary Uber One membership, which is valued at $9.99 per month.

The promotion runs through November 14, 2024. So you’ll want to act quickly if you want to receive the full 24 months of benefit from Uber One.

6 Months of Uber One Membership

  • Quicksilver from Capital One
  • QuicksilverOne from Capital One
  • Quicksilver Secured from Capital One

Each of these cards can enjoy up to six months of complimentary Uber One membership statement credits. This promotion is also good through November 14, 2024.

How To Claim Uber One Benefits

If you have one of the Capital One cards that qualifies for a complimentary Uber One membership, Capital One has provided instructions for claiming the benefits (details below).

If you’re already a member of Uber One, the process is pretty simple. You just need to make sure your eligible card is on file as the subscription payment source in the Uber app. You’ll begin to receive statement credits on your Capital One bill to cover the costs of the subscription for the duration of your card’s eligibility.

But if you’re new to Uber One, you’ll have to sign up for a new membership through the Uber app. Capital One offers the following advice for ensuring this is done correctly:

If you’re not an Uber One member, you can sign up for an Uber One monthly membership directly in the Uber or Uber Eats app. If you don’t already have the app, download it on your mobile device’s app store. Then take the following steps:

1. Use your eligible Capital One card as your method of payment for your monthly membership.
2. Make sure you’re on a monthly plan and aren’t using any Uber Cash.
3. Enjoy! Your Capital One card will be charged each month and you’ll receive a statement credit for each month of your credited membership period.

Once you have things set up, it’s important to note that you’ll be on an automatic renewal with Uber One. So once your credited membership period expires, your card on file will be charged each month, and you’ll no longer receive a statement credit.

That means you’ll probably want to set yourself a calendar reminder to cancel before the expiration date to avoid paying for the service.

What Is Uber One?

Uber One is a monthly subscription service that provides perks for both Uber and Uber Eats.

Here’s a quick rundown of what it offers:

  • Unlimited $0 delivery fee on Uber Eats
  • 5% off Uber ride-booking
  • Preferred access to top-rated drivers
  • Up to 10% off eligible Uber Eats deliveries and pickup orders
  • Additional special offers and promotions

Uber claims that Uber One subscribers save $25 per month on average. The regular price of a subscription is $9.99 per month.

Final Thoughts

Even if you’re not a regular Uber customer, these new perks may provide you with occasional value.

The Capital One Savor and SavorOne cards were already some of the best rewards credit cards for dining even before this perk was announced.

Now, you may be able to increase your use of these cards with to-go or delivery dining through Uber Eats, thanks to the 10% cash back perk and complimentary Uber One membership.
