A look at Aldi’s frozen sandwich recall

Manufacturer J&J Snack Foods Handheld Corp. is teaming up with the discount grocery chain to recall the frozen sandwiches because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella.

Products affected by this recall have a UPC Code of 4149815117 and best-by dates of Feb. 9, 2019 or Feb. 14, 2019.

Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported thus far from eating these sandwiches.

The recall is being issued out of an abundance of caution because it is feared that the affected product — which was actually discontinued in 2017 — may still be lurking in some freezers out there.

Aldi’s Southwest Veggie Stuffed Sandwich was sold in nearly two dozen states:

  • Alabama
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Florida

  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Ohio
