This week, Twigby revealed a new lineup of cell phone plans. The new plans include slightly more data, and they still include an introductory offer of $10 off per month for the first three months.
In this article, I’ll take a closer look at Twigby’s new plans including what you’ll get for the price and how they compare to other available plans.
New Twigby Plans Available Now
Twigby now has five prepaid cell phone plans to choose from ranging from $10-$35 per month (plus taxes and fees):
- No data for $10/month (no change)
- 2GB for $15/month (previously 1GB)
- 5GB for $20/month (previously 4GB)
- 8GB for $26/month (previously 7GB for $25)
- 20GB for $35/month (previously $40)
Twigby eliminated the 10GB for $30/month plan. Still, all data plans are eligible for $10 off per month for the first three months of service (new customers only). The talk and text-only plan (no data) is eligible for $5 off per month for the first three months.
All of Twigby’s plans include unlimited talk and text (including international calling and texting to 80+ countries from the U.S.). Data plans also include unlimited 2G data speeds after you’ve used the allotted monthly high-speed data.

Twigby: An Affordable Verizon Wireless MVNO
If you aren’t familiar with Twigby, it’s an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that uses Verizon Wireless’ network to deliver service to its customers at a major discount. If you have service in your area from Verizon Wireless, you’ll likely also be covered with Twigby.
Other Verizon Wireless resellers and MVNOs include Visible, Xfinity Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, Total by Verizon and more.
Compared to Verizon Wireless itself, you’ll find an excellent price with Twigby’s phone plans. Verizon Wireless’ postpaid plans start at $75 for Welcome Unlimited without any discounts. While you’ll get more high-speed data and additional postpaid benefits, you’ll find a much better price with Twigby’s $35 Unlimited plan (20GB high-speed).
Compared to other prepaid plans, Twigby still offers a decent deal. Verizon Prepaid plans start at $35/month for 15GB of high-speed data (autopay required) which is 5GB less than Twigby’s Unlimited plan for the same price.
Visible (a prepaid Verizon reseller) offers unlimited plans starting at $30/month, which is a slightly better deal than Twigby’s unlimited plan. Spectrum Mobile and Xfinity Mobile each also offer unlimited plans starting at $30, though you’ll need two lines to qualify for that price with Xfinity. Still, Spectrum and Xfinity’s by-the-gig plans cost $14-$15 per GB, respectively. For the same price, you can get 2GB of high-speed data plus unlimited data at 2G speeds with Twigby.
Final Thoughts
While Twigby is now one of the cheapest options available on Verizon Wireless’ network, you’ll still be able to find better prices with MVNOs on other networks.
For example, Tello Mobile offers 1GB for $10, 2GB for $14 and 25GB for $29. Mint Mobile offers 5GB for $15 and 40GB for $30 (though you can get any Mint Mobile plan for $15/month for a limited time). Both Tello and Mint use T-Mobile’s network.
Still, if Verizon has better service in your area, or if you’ve been thinking about trying out Twigby, now is a great time to switch! I recommend trying the 2GB plan for $5 with the three-month introductory offer before canceling your current plan. Then, you can test out the service in your area yourself for only $5 before making a commitment.
