AT&T Prepaid has announced a limited-time, online-only deal for students. Now through September 30, students can sign up for AT&T Prepaid and get unlimited talk, text and data for $40 per month.

I checked out AT&T Prepaid’s offer and read the fine print to find out exactly what you can expect when signing up for this discount. You can check out the details below.

AT&T Prepaid Unlimited Plan Details

AT&T Prepaid offers five different prepaid plans with AT&T Prepaid Unlimited including the most data plus 5G access.

Of course, it also comes with the highest price tag at $65 per month. With autopay, the price drops to $50 per month. With autopay and AT&T’s limited-time student discount, the price drops to $40 per month.

No matter which price you pay, here’s everything that you can expect with the AT&T Prepaid Unlimited plan:

  • Unlimited talk and text
  • Unlimited high-speed data with 5G access
  • Unlimited texting from the United States to more than 230 countries
  • Unlimited talk and text from the U.S. to Canada and Mexico
  • Use talk, text and data in Canada and Mexico
  • ActiveArmor fraud call blocking and spam alerts

While you will have unlimited access to high-speed data and AT&T’s 5G network (on capable devices), you will likely still experience deprioritization as you can expect with any prepaid phone plan.

According to AT&T’s website, data speeds may temporarily slow for AT&T Prepaid customers if the network is busy. Additionally, international data roaming may be reduced to 2G speeds. You can also expect standard definition (SD) video streaming.

How To Get AT&T Prepaid Unlimited for $40

AT&T Prepaid Unlimited typically costs $60 per month. However, customers who are enrolled in autopay get a $15 discount. For a limited time, students can get an additional $10 off per month for 12 months. That brings the total price to $40 per month for AT&T Prepaid Unlimited.

If you’re a student, you can take advantage of this deal anytime before September 30, 2022. Here’s how it works:

  1. Register and verify your student status. Use this link to sign up register and verify your student status with Student Beans. Once you’ve signed up and verified your status, you’ll receive a link to access the discounted price on the AT&T Prepaid website.
  2. Click on the link you receive after verification and select the AT&T Prepaid Unlimited plan at the discounted rate.
  3. Sign up for autopay to get the biggest discount.

Autopay will provide a $15 monthly discount. The student discount AT&T is offering will provide an additional $10 credit on each monthly bill for 12 months. This discount will start during the second month of service. Taxes and fees are extra.

Other Unlimited Prepaid Plans

Forty dollars per month for unlimited service is an excellent price. In fact, if you’re looking for unlimited service directly from a major carrier like AT&T, $40 is hard to beat.

T-Mobile Simply Prepaid Unlimited costs $50 per month for 50GB of high-speed data while Verizon Prepaid Unlimited costs $65.

However, prepaid MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators) do offer great deals on unlimited service that are also worth considering.
