A record 115 cars have been named 2012 Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS).

The IIHS conducts a four-point safety test to determine its picks. Testing includes a 40 mile per hour front crash; a 31 mph side crash, a test of roof integrity; and a 20 mph rear crash.

AdamGoldfein.com has cross-referenced a list of vehicles that made the IIHS 2012 Top Safety Picks and also received five stars from SaferCar.gov, a site operated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
