German automotive company Daimler AG announced the recall Tuesday of more than 800,000 Mercedes-Benz cars and Daimler vans due to potentially faulty airbags.
Another day, another auto recall!
The problem stems from potentially defective airbags manufactured by Takata and installed in the car makes, according to Dailmer AG. The company said it was notified of the problematic airbags by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall affects approximately 705,000 Mercedes-Benz cars and 136,000 Daimler vans in the United States.
Daimler AG estimated the cost of the “precautionary recall” at around €340 million ($383 million).
