DETROIT — More than 473,000 SUVs and trucks are being recalled by General Motors, because brake pedals become loose and do not work correctly.
ABC News reported Tuesday that the recalls are for trucks and SUVs in the U.S. and Canada.
Another day, another recall
GM said a nut on the brake pedal pivot mechanism can become loose, which then makes the pedal loose and could lead to a non-working pedal. Canadian officials say the brake lights may stay on longer than needed as a result.
Some 2015 and 2016 GMC Sierra HD, Chevrolet Silverado HD and Chevrolet Tahoe police vehicles are under the recall, which GM said would start soon.
Those with these vehicles can take cars to a dealership, where bolts will be inspected, bonded with adhesive and tightened, if necessary.
There have been no reports of related accidents because of the brake pedal issue.
