If you’re car shopping on a tight budget, you may think that your choices are super limited. But money expert Clark Howard says now’s actually a good time to buy a car if your circumstances allow it.
Vehicle research site iSeeCars recently released a list of models that are not only affordable, but have demonstrated reliability over a long period of time.
Here Are the Best Affordable Used Cars Under $10K
To compile the list, iSeeCars analyzed more than 6.1 million cars (model years 2011 and newer) with an average safety rating of at least four out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Let’s take a look at the best used cars under $10,000, according to iSeeCars data:
Best Used Cars Under $10,000 |
|
Vehicle | Average Used Car Price |
2011 Toyota Prius | $9,076 |
2012 Chevrolet Impala | $9,240 |
2011 Honda Accord | $9,363 |
2012 Honda Civic (Coupe) | $9,406 |
2013 Mazda Mazda 6 | $9,534 |
2012 Honda Civic (Sedan) | $9,552 |
2012 Toyota Corolla | $9,655 |
As you can see from the list, vehicles nearly a decade old can still have some gas in the tank, so to speak.
“Older vehicles with established reputations for longevity and safety can help consumers get high quality cars at more affordable prices,” said iSeeCars CEO Phong Ly.
