Destination: Heiligenblut, Austria
About this photo:The Gothic pilgrimage church of Saint Vinzenz, was built between 1460-1491. A beautiful setting at the foot of the Grossglocner Peak, Austria’s highest. It was cloudy this day so the peak was not visible. The little village of Heiligenblut(means Holy Blood) is the beginning of the southern part of the Grossglockner Road which You can drive to the Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Hohe with a close up view of the Grossglockner peak and the Pasterze Glacier. Also, a nice restaurant there to eat and enjoy the beautiful view. In Heiligenblut we stayed at the Pension Edelweiss which offered nice rooms at good rates with a view of the Grossglockner from the balcony.

About this photo: We are lucky enough to be less than an hour away from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin where we rented a speed boat on one of the most beautiful days of this past summer 2010. It was fun to take my daughters tubing for the first time. I’m not going to lie and say our day trip was cheap but I will say it was worth every penny.
Best deal found: Breakfast at Scuttlebutts was surprisingly affordable. We enjoyed looking out on the lake while having a wonderful meal.
