Destination: Italy/Sicily
About this photo:
This is the Tevere River as seen from the Victor Emanuel Bridge, Rome, Italy. It was taken from the upper level of a double-decker bus.
Best deal found: The “red” double-decker bus. It cost 15 Euros for an all-day pass. You could hop on-hop off at any of their stops, of which there were many, or ride the entire loop, about two hours, to see the sights. The ticket comes with ear buds which you plug in to hear descriptions of the many sights around the city. A good deal.

Destination: Negril Jamaica
About this photo: We signed up on the SpiritAir mailing list and got tickets to Jamaica for $19 each way so with the taxes, departure fees etc. we only paid $145 per person. We booked at Tensing Pen in Negril (Saved for over a year just to stay there, more expensive than Samsara but so worth it!) Anyway, our beautiful vacation was the most horrendous experience of my life! Hurricane Nicole formed over Jamaica, although the national hurricane center decided the center wasnt bad enough to call a hurricane, we still had sustained winds of 60 mph for 3 days and a very angry ocean. The seas grew to 40 ft and and we ended up getting evacuated to a safer resort. I will never get that money back and I have nothing to show for it except for some pretty crazy looking pictures.
Best deal found: Spirit Air $19 each way. We did pay for the checked bag but booked online to save $20. Also since our flight came in at 430 we stayed the 1st night in a cheaper resort since we didn’t get in until after 6 and didn’t get to enjoy a full day. I paid my aunt to watch my dogs so I didn’t have to pay for boarding. And we got a coupon online for offsite airport parking for $6/day

Destination: New Zealand
About this photo: This is Lake Pukaki and Mt Cook in New Zealand. This lake was carved by glaciers years ago yet the glacial sediment in the water still reflects the most beautiful turquoise blue. The views were stunning and we literally stopped and turned the car around for this photo.
Best deal found: The airfare was on sale last year for NZ’s shoulder seasons (aka spring and fall). We saved more than 50% on the price!

Destination: Denver Colorado
About this photo: Went to Denver for the first time. Simply amazed at the Rockies. The clouds looked beautiful over the top of the mountains. This cell phone picture doesn’t do the mountain range any justice.
Best deal found: Visited the YMCA in Denver. Lots to see and do there.
