Best deal found:  While visiting Victoria Falls we visited an open air market and were able to buy several hand carved animals for just a few dollars. We were even able to trade our clothes and gum with the people at the market, enabling us to bring home more souvenirs in our empty suitcases.

Destination: Alaska inside passage
Best deal found: While having dinner on our cruise ship last Thursday between Skagway and Victoria, we were surprised to look out our window and see this beautiful setting. There was nothing else around that even indicated civilization. Wow!

Destination: London
Best deal found: Our family of 4 stayed at the London Marriot Maida Vale from 3/27 to 3/30/2008 for 92 USD per night using Priceline. The Marriot’s website rate was 209 GBP ( 400+ USD ) for the same dates. That’s a deal. Thanks Clark for your recommendation to use Priceline. Another great deal, the British Museum is free for everybody and it’s great. It ranks at the top of all European Museums. One more tip: Don’t have bagels for breakfast in Piccadilly Circus square: 4 Cream cheese bagels and 4 drinks: 59 USD!!!

Best deal found: I found that the airfare from the Atlanta Airport to the Pu Dong AirPort to be a very good price. Also you are able to bargain with the sellers. The weather was very breezy and felt really good. It is good to go during the spring time.

Destination: Greece
Best deal found: We visited Greece last November and followed the “Footsteps of Paul.” What a great time to go. The crowds were minimal. Aside from an occasional rainy morning, the weather was pleasant. This guy caught my eye because of all the character in his face.

Destination: Capri
Best deal found: This is the Faraglione di Mezzo off the coast of Capri. My husband and I rented a TINY motor boat from Sorrento, along the Amalfi coast, and puttered along on our way to Capri. The nice Italian man who we rented the boat from didn’t believe we boated all the way to Capri until I showed him my pictures from my camera! LOL. It was quite an adventure, but I think next time we’ll rent a bigger boat.

Destination: Atlanta!
Best deal found:  This isn’t a travel pic, but I couldn’t find another way to get this picture to Clark… from the Feb 16th Habitat work day.
(Editor’s Note: we chose this picture to illustrate the fact that sometimes a “staycation” in your own hometown can not only be a great deal, but can be just as fun and rewarding as world travel. Thanks to you and your friends for helping on Clark’s latest Atlanta Habitat for Humanity build!)
