Destination: Mount Camelback Phoenix Arizona
About this photo:
A grueling climb up Mount Camelback in Arizona. The Mountain watches over the overwhelming Valley of the Sun in the middle of Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley where it lies above a thriving metropolis of over four million people. Unless you’ve ever hiked to its summit at 2700 feet, you’ll never experience the natural tranquility overlooking the amazing beauty of the cityscape horizon.
Best deal found: The hotel near by really treated me like royalty being a Priority Rewards member.

Destination: Palma Spain
About this photo: This is the view from on top of a little out island called “Dragonera” on the west coast of Palma de Mallorca, Spain. My wife and I hiked up 90 minutes to the top of the island and this is the view from the old lighthouse that is on top. I didn’t want to come down.
Best deal found: I stayed at a little “bed/Breakfast” called Hotel L’Escaleta in a sweet little town called S’arraco.  This little home is owned by a charming English lady who is extremely accommodating. I will go there again. Hal

Destination: Monument Valley
About this photo: Road trip with my parents to Monument Valley in Utah. We drove from one interesting rock formation to another until they started turning orange during sunset. Truly beautiful!
Best deal found: The View hotel is the only hotel inside of park and therefore is quite pricey. I would recommend staying at Kayenta short drive from the park. We liked the Best Western and it was affordable.

Destination: Georgetown, Grand Cayman
About this photo: This is a sunset in 2002 of Cemetery Beach at Georgetown, Grand Cayman. We were surprised that such a beautiful, prime location beach front was actually reserved for a cemetery … it’s between 7-mile beach & Hell (a town in Grand Cayman). During this trip my now husband proposed for the 1st time … I made him do it twice – ha!
Best deal found: There’s a restaurant near Treasure Island hotel that has the best creamy pasta & crab dish that I have ever had in my life!!! I felt guilty about wanting the same thing every time & not ordering something different. So they made it with a tomato sauce the next time. I prefer the cream but the other was equally decadent.

Destination: Athens Georgia
About this photo: This photo is at the finish line a couple months back where I ran non stop from downtown Athens Georgia to Piedmont park in Atlanta. 90+ miles. 19 hours and 41 mins. With no sleep. I was raising money for the Leukemia and lymphoma society through team in training. I became the first person ever to run the Athens to Atlanta inline skate race. Check out my story here. Hope this inspires people.
Best deal found: I found it was cheaper to run from athens to atlanta than to drive granted you have the time. Pedestrian travel… Try it..

Destination: St Lucia
About this photo: This is a partial view from our porch at Ti Kaye Village. The actual view was much broader than this photo shows and it was just wonderful looking down and out upon the ocean and frequently, passing sailboats. For a week my wife & I woke to the sound of surf below and looked out at the ocean stretching to the horizon and in the evening enjoyed these beautiful sunsets.
Best deal found: We visited late Jan. 2010 on our honeymoon and this was the perfect spot for us. High season so not a great bargain and actually pretty expensive for us but worth every penny. We both experienced 1 week of ‘heaven’ in a relaxing tropical paradise and hope to return one day. Best deal for us was the $10 all you can eat breakfast buffet. Three meals here will easily approach $150-175 or more per day/couple.
