About this photo: Esfahan has many bridges across the Zayandeh river. This Zayandeh is a very strange river. It originates from a spring in the Zagros mountains, then runs for 400 km through the Esfahan province and finally disappears into the ground of the Dasht-é Kavir desert. The best known bridge of Esfahan is the Khaju bridge

Destination: Montreux, Switzerland
About this photo: Chateau de Chillon just 5 minutes south of Montreux, Switzerland. We were there for the Montreux Jazz Festival in early July.
Best deal found: Wow – food prices are out of sight in Switzerland. Expect to pay $125 to $140 over there for a $50 meal here in Atlanta. Definitely not a Clark Smart way to go, but the Jazz Festival made up for the huge expense. The grocery stores are called Migros and COOP. You can always find one around a train station. Take plastic plates, forks, knives and cups. Your wallet will thank you and plastic items don’t require much room in the suitcase.
