Ski Savings Tips
Show your airline boarding pass, with a matching photo ID to the Mountain Concierge store at Reno Tahoe International Airport or to the Guest Services and Sales Center at Squaw Valley or Alpine Meadows to receive a ski or ride free ticket on that day of arrival. The pass is good for California’s Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows.
On December 15, Snowmass in Colorado will offer $6.50 lift tickets. That was the price when the resort opened on that date 50 years ago. These days, those who pop for a single-day lift ticket at the resort pay $155.
At Copper Mountain in Colorado, the Ski & Ride University is designed for adults (age 18+) who have never been on skis or a snowboard before. Participants get three lessons (a half-day and two full-day lessons), equipment rentals and lift tickets, all for $249 – less than you’d pay for two full-day adult lift tickets at the resort. The deal includes three days of free parking and lunch during full-day sessions. Graduates get a Copper Mountain season pass so they can practice what they’ve learned, for free, during the remainder of the 2017-18 winter season. Plus, get half off a 2018-19 season pass. Enrollment is required in person.
Purchase lift tickets and ski passes in advance at a great value for over 250 resorts across North America at Liftopia. Savings are as much as 61% off, but shop early as quantities are limited.
The Park City Quick Start (show your same day boarding pass for a free same-day lift ticket) will NOT be offered for the 2017-2018 ski season.

Regrets? I have a few…
According to a new study performed by Airfarewatchdog, the #1 career regret in the U.S. is not using all of one’s vacation days.
In a study of about 2,500 people, Airfarewatchdog found that as of mid-September 2017, 63% had 10 or more vacation days left to use in this calendar year, while 75% had a week of unused days. They also found that 45% of all participants admit to not taking advantage of all of their vacation days, and 74% say they regret that fact.
Who is to blame for the widespread trend? The study points to American work culture as a partial culprit, saying that 37% of participants did not feel encouraged by either their boss or their company to actually use all of those vacation days. However, 27% would still choose unlimited vacation over a 10% salary increase.
The pressure many Americans feel to work through their vacation days is causing some employers to take matters into their own hands, like the CEO of SimpliFlying, who insists his employees take a completely unplugged vacation for a full week every seven weeks. If they don’t leave work behind and get away, they won’t be paid for the week.
