More ways to save money at Stein Mart

According to its website, Stein Mart advertises itself as a place that offers “up to 60% off department store prices every day!”

But that doesn’t mean the savings have to stop there. Here are some extra ways to save the next time you’re shopping Stein Mart.

Look for the upcoming “treasure hunt” items

Stein Mart wants shopping to be fun at store locations. That’s why CEO Hunt Hawkins told analysts during an earnings call that there will be more of a focus on “opportunistic buying” of closeouts and liquidations from other full-price retailers.

According to Hawkins, the company is looking to “increase [the] ‘treasure hunt’ component with more special items” in 2017.

Look for the private brand label or unbranded items

While you probably come to Stein Mart for the name brands, don’t overlook the off-brand stuff.

About 12% of what Stein Mart sells is private label, according to Jacksonville.com.

In addition, you’ll often find great values on the unbranded items in the home goods section. Because nobody cares about the name when they pick up a photo frame or a candle!

Let the store come to you

Stein Marts are already conveniently located in off-mall locations, often with co-tenants like high-end groceries, popular restaurants and other cosmetics and apparel retailers.

Shop the clearance section of the website

At Steinmart.com, you can shop the Clearance section for up to 80% off already discounted merchandise.

Buy previously owned gift cards at a discount

This trick applies to pretty much any store that offers gift cards!

Sites like CardPool.com and GiftCardGranny.com will resell them at a discount from their face value. The sellers are people who don’t want the gift cards they were themselves given as a gift.

You can typically save between 8% and 25% off the face value of a Stein Mart gift card by doing it this way.

Join the loyalty program

The Preferred Customer program gives you access to members-only shopping days, special birthday discounts, special notice of events and sales mailed to your home and more.

Best of all, it’s free to join!
