Amazon is giving college students a new Prime membership option that doesn’t require an annual commitment.

Students enrolled in four- or two-year colleges can now enjoy all of the benefits of a regular Prime membership for $5.49 a month, which works out to $65 a year.

To save even more money, students may still choose to take advantage of a $49 annual membership.

“Our new monthly payment option lets students enjoy the best of Amazon in a more flexible and simple way,” said Ellen Kinney, Director of Prime Student, Amazon. “Whether it’s getting their favorite products with free shipping or streaming thousands of popular movies and shows, Prime student members can experience all the benefits of Prime.”

With both payment options, students get a six-month free trial to decide if Prime is worth the cost.
