If you or an immediate family member serve in the nation’s military or have done so in the past, you may be able to get discounts and other benefits from some of the most popular businesses out there.

In this article, I’ve rounded up information on more than two dozen deals for veterans and active members of the U.S. military.

Top Military Deals For Veterans

These deals are of special significance to money expert Clark Howard, who was a proud member of the Georgia State Defense Force. “Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t thank me for my service,” he says.

In researching this article, when I couldn’t find the deal online I called the stores in my area. I found that many retailers may ask you to show proof of your military status for in-store purchases. For online purchases, the store may ask that you register on its website.

The qualifications typically include one of the following:

  • Active duty status in the U.S. Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy or National Guard
  • Veterans of the above services
  • Family members of veterans or those serving on active duty

Additionally, in many cases you also need to be registered with ID.me or GovX.com, which are secure digital identity networks that make it easy for you to prove and share your identity with others.

Note: This is not an all-inclusive list, but rather, military discounts from major companies.
