A new way to meet promising applicants

Verizon hopes to fill more than 1,000 positions across the country in wireless sales, customer service and tech support, including 170 customer service jobs in the Alpharetta area.

Before Thursday, applicants should create an account at verizon.virtualcareerfairs.com.  Job seekers can review available positions and upload resumes to the site.

Tracie Lovell, associate director of human resources for Verizon Wireless in the Georgia/Alabama region, sees this online approach as a natural fit for the company.  ‘We are confident we will connect with many outstanding potential employees,’ she states in a prepared release.

The Verizon Wireless Virtual Career Fair will take place from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Thursday.  Candidates from anywhere in the U.S. can take part, including college students and recent graduates.
