Ethanol proven to kill small engines

Clark has a 50cc scooter he likes to putt around on. It’s maximum speed is 38mph–but right now it’s “zero” mpg–ever since he put gas with Ethanol in it. And now it’s been scientifically proven: Ethanol kills small engines.

The gas industry now wants to produce gas containing up to 15% Ethanol, up from the 10% level allowed today.

Cars older than 2001 simply can’t process gas that is 15% Ethanol. And don’t even think about putting it in your lawnmower, leaf blower…or scooter!

But it’s getting harder to find gas without Ethanol anymore. Consumer Reports says to get the cleanest fuel for your small engines, you should purchase it at a marina! But it’s $5/gallon! And how many of us live near marinas anyway?

According to the website Fuelfix.com, fuel demand is down lower than its been in 20 years. This is due not only to the recession, but to the efficiency of newer vehicles. And this is great news for the country. When we use less oil, we spend less on foriegn oil. And as we up fuel production in the U.S. (which includes Ethanol production from our farmers), our economy will rise.
